The Trogoptera genus includes 23 species. The shape of the wings is typical. The costal edge of Trogoptera notata's fore wings is relatively straight. It bears a small dark mark at two thirds of its total length. The outer edge is straight, even slightly concave. The anal angle shows a small notch followed by a larger rounded one which extends up to the middle of the inner edge. The hind wings show a small notch at the apex. The wings are a pale brown to russet brown colour. They are sprinkled with sparse black dots. They slightly turn to more greyish towards the margin. The body is light beige and hairy. The antennae are feathery. |

I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session. You need to consider this species identification with some reserve as I have very few information on the other members of this genus. |
