Ladybirds of the Scymninae sub-family are a very small size and show an oval or oblong body which is strongly domed. The elytra and the pronotum are often totally covered by dense short hairs. The larvae are covered by a white waxy substance looking like cotton wool or wool. They feed on scale insects, mites and aphids. |

My attention has been attracted by a small moving thing covered with white cotton-like hairs. A small head is protruding at the front, this is one larva of Scymninae! I just have to photograph an adult now, but their very small size make them very difficult to see. |
