Rhuda focula has a brown head and thorax with black markings. The abdomen is grey and exceeds the hind wings in length by about one third.
The fore wings are often held roof-like over the body when at rest.
The fore wings show a large semi-circular patch, centred on the costal edge on about three fifths of its length.
Then you find a whitish area extending to the apex of the wing, a brownish area starting from the costal edge near the base and running along the inner edge to the margin close to the anal angle and at least a small white spot with black markings at the base of the wing.
There is a thin black submarginal wavy line. The veins are marked by white marginal dots circled with blackish grey.
The hind wings are blackish with a pale yellow central patch and a pale yellow band along the inner edge. The fringe is pale yellow.

Rhuda focula
I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session.
The hind wings, which are often useful to tell species apart, are seldom visible on pictures shot in the field without any capture. This moth has been a bit more cooperative to show me a part of them.
