The diptera of the Micropezidae family have short antennae. Their body is generally thin and elongated. Their legs are long. The legs of the fore pair are shorter than those of the following pairs. You can recognize Rainiera calceata with the white colour of the base of its tarsi on the fore legs and on the hind legs. The legs are black. The mid and hind femurs show a yellowish orange subapical ring. The wings are crossed by a dark band. They are also slightly dark at the apex. |
