Springtails of the Poduromorpha order show an oval body, with rounded segments and very short antennae. The prothorax is clearly visible. The third and fourth segments of the abdomen are the same size. Notice that springtails' abdomen is made of five segments. These springtails moves without jumping. |

I have observed these tiny springtails inside the compost tank. I will try, one day, to shoot pictures with a much higher magnification factor but I may have to buy some specific equipment for this. |
