The spider of the Pisauridae family are large spiders with long legs which are hunting at sight. The legs of pairs I and II are often held close to each other at the front in resting position. The eye arrangement is characteristic. The row below is made of four small eyes close to each other. The four eyes of the upper row are a little larger and form a trapeze shape. |

I have photographed this spider on the low growing vegetation bordering the Monts-la-Fumée footpath next to the small village of Saül. I have listed this one as Pisauridae sp. based on the eye arrangement which seems to me matching this family. |
