The head is mainly yellow with a black stripe between the antennae. The antennae are rather long. They are a yellow orange colour and slightly pectinate.
The thorax shows 6 bright yellow patches, 2 at the back of the head on the prothorax, then 3 elongated patches on the mesothorax and at least 1 on the scutellum.
The abdomen is fusiform-shaped and bears 3 large yellow patches on each side on its first half.
The hind leg tibias show 4 small spurs. The hind leg tarsi are orange yellow.

Orcynia calcarata
I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session.
You can clearly see the 4 spurs on the hind tibias.
