Biotope: Meadows, woodland edges, forest tracks. Adults feed on pollen and you can often observe them on Umbellifers. Geographic area: Europe and Near East. Observation period : April to August. |
The False Blister Beetle has yellow, ochre or pale brown elytra. The head is black. There is a small notch on the last article of the antennae. The thorax is black or dark brown on males and yellow on females. The fore legs and the mid legs are yellowish. The hind leg 'thighs' are thickened on males. They are black on three quarters of their length and yellowish at the base. Oedemera femoralis' fore legs are black on the femora tips and on the tibiae. |

The thorax of this male is not very black compared to what I have seen on other photo galleries. You can guess the small notch on the last article on the antenna close to the upper side of the picture. Regarding the fore legs, there is no black colour at the apex of femora and the tibiae are yellowish. |

The thorax shows here the usual dark colour observed on males. The yellow base of the femora is not visible on this picture. |
