Nogodinidae (Melichar, 1898)

Scientific name: Nogodinidae (Melichar, 1898)
Common name:
French name:
Order: Hemiptera
Family: Nogodinidae
Wingspan : 4 to 17 mm.
Biotope: Most of the species of this family are found in rain forests.
Geographic area: Mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. Missing in Europe.
Observation period :

The insects of the Nogodinidae family, which are very similar to Issidae, have membranous and generally rather wide wings. These wings are crossed by a dense network of veins and they show clear areas.
There are spines a the tip of hind leg tibiae. There is also one spine on the second segment of the hind leg tarsi.
The face is longer than wide the antennae are inserted below the eyes.
I have found one key allowing to dispatch the specimens into five tribes based on particularities of the metatarsi, of the network of veins on the wings and of the females' ovipositor. Let's say that with only pictures we will not be able to tell more than the family (except if I find other documents ...).
These insects feed by sucking plant sap.

Nogodinidae
I have shot this picture at Saül, while walking upwards on the Belvédère footpath.
I have found one species type picture (follow the link and look at the insect just before the last one at the bottom of the page) which is very similar to the insect on my picture. So this may be Nogodina reticulata but without being sure.
This species is given as present in Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and north of Brazil.
