The Nemoria genus includes 134 species and is exclusively observed in the Americas. Each species is often limited to a restricted geographical range and the dominant colour is emerald green. Nemoria scriptaria has dark reddish brown eyes which contrast with the colour of body and with the ground colour of the wings which are both pale green. There is a small dark dorsal patch at the back of the thorax. The wings are peppered with small dark marks which are closer to each other and more visible around the discal spot on the fore wings. The fringe of the wings is whitish and interrupted by a dark marking on each vein. The marking located at the middle of the outer edge of each wing is often larger than the other ones. |
