Caterpillar: Light green with some yellow colour between the segments. It shows reddish dorsal spots and two conical-shaped protuberance on the head.
Host plant: Many trees including Birches (Betula), Oaks (Quercus), Willows (Salix), Wild Apples (Malus), etc.

The Little Emerald shows light green wings which fade to whitish a short time after the emergence of the imago.
The margin of the hind wings draws an angulous tip.
The fore wings and the hind wings are crossed by two thin white lines. The line located in the post-median area is parallel to the margin on both wings.
The lines crossing the wings of Jodis putata are jagged, this is not the case on Jodis lactearia.
The Little Emerald over winters as a chrysalis.

Little Emerald (Jodis lactearia)
The general shape of the wings, though they are a little damaged, and the post-medial white lines, parallel to the margin, seem to indicate the Little Emerald species.
The green colour has disappeared.
