It shows a paler segment near the tail and black wavy marks on the back. Host plant: Low growing plants like Dandelions (Taraxacum). |
The Dwarf Cream Wave shows a creamy-white colour with a small black spot on each of the four wings. There are three wavy brownish or greyish lines near the edge of the wings. There is also a dark brown interrupted line next to the wings' fringes. The front edge of the forewings is a darker colour. The Dwarf Cream Wave over winters as a caterpillar. |

I have many difficulties to tell apart species of the Idaea sp. genus. Thanks to Alain Ramel who has indicated to me that this one has a high probability to be a pale form of Idaea fuscovenosa. |
