Hapigia annulata has pale brown fore wings, without any contrasted marking, and with some lighter coloured cross veins. So it looks like a dead leaf. There is a thin dark submarginal line made up with alternating small curves, interrupted when crossing the veins of the wings. The hind wings are pale brown. The thorax is brown, the upper side of the abdomen is black with pale grey cross stripes (in fact, isn't the abdomen ringed like the species name seems to indicate?) |

I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session. I am still having a doubt about the identification of this Notodontidae. There are many very similar species and I would have liked to have a view of the abdomen to confirm. Any comment from an expert is welcome. |
