Haetera piera has transparent wings with brown veins. The hind wings bears two black eyespots, circled with orange and brown and pupiled with white, one close to the apex and the other one near the anal angle. The hind wings are tinted with some amber colour starting from the median area. Haetera macleannania which is found further north, from Costa Rica to Colombia, has its hind wings tinted with some reddish colour. |
