The Crucifer Shield Bug has a black and lengthy head. The body is black and flat with a blue or green metallic sheen. It shows marks which can be red or white on both sexes. There is a longitudinal band in the middle of the pronotum, an oval-shaped mark on the tip of the scutellum and an oval-shaped mark on each elytron. Juveniles are paler and more yellowish. There is one or two broods per year. There are 5 moults to reach the adult state. The Crucifer Shield Bug over winters as an adult. |

I think that this juvenile Crucifer Shield Bug is at the last instar just needing a last moult to become an adult. I have observed it next to another Crucifer Shield Bug at the adult state. |
