Eupastranaia tumidifrons has fore wings with a sinuous margin and a pointed and curved apex. The four wings show a broad creamy yellow marginal border and a large silvery discal patch outlined by a dark brown line. They are ornated with brown and dark brown patterns. The fore wings show, in addition, darker purplish patterns in the basal area. The head is a darker colour with one very dark patch on the upper side. I have read (however this requires confirmation) that Eupastranaia fenestra, which is found further south and which is very similar to Eupastranaia tumidifrons, does not show this very dark colour on the upper side of the head. |

I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session. I have read that Eupastranaia tumidifrons is not strongly attracted to light. That's maybe why this picture was not shot on the white sheet but a little further. |
