Crinodes bellatrix holds its head and its legs retracted under its fore wings when landed.
The thorax and the base of the fore wings are dark reddish brown and marked with small light-coloured spots. There is a prominent tuft of hairs on the upper side.
The remaining parts of the fore wings are a paler brown colour with a dark mark extending from the basal area along the costal edge and ending with a spearhead-shaped spot in the centre of the wing.
The hind wings are greyish brown.
The colours and the shape of Crinodes bellatrix make it resemble to a large seed fallen from a plant.
