The fore wings of the Barred Marble are variable in colour. The most common forms are pale brown or reddish brown mixed with pale grey. You can distinguish a dense network of dark lines covering all the wings. They are crossed by a well-marked dark brown median band. Another band of the same colour sometimes extends in the form of a curve in the post-discal area between the apex and the tornus. The hind wings are brownish grey. The Barred Marble is attracted to light. |

This Barred Marble must have been attracted to light as I found it inside the house. The marbled wings crossed by a median band and a curved post-discal band are typical of this species. |
