The micro-moths of the Gelechiidae family show long labial palps which are strongly curved upwards. The Bryotropha genus is characterized by the presence of a single long bristle (or pecten) under each scape at the base of the antennae. The fore wings are generally a brown to greyish brown colour, even sometimes a whitish colour for some species. They are elongated and start tapering since the middle of the length. You can generally distinguish four more or less aligned dark spots, two in the basal area and two in the discal area. The hind wings are a similar width than the fore wings. They show a pointed apex. |

Though this is an upper side view, the long bristle (or pecten), located under the scape and typical of this genus, is clearly visible on this picture. I have been able to insert the edge of a paper graph sheet on the picture to measure the exact wingspan size. However I am not enough skilled to tell the species apart. |
