Hesperiidae of the Autochton genus are small chocolate brown butterflies which show a white or cream median band on the fore wings and two or three apical spots. They are often observed landed on low growing vegetation with their wings wide open. Autochton zarex shows a pure white median band on the fore wings. The hind wings bear a white margin. Autochton longipennis differs from Autochton zarex by the presence of a dark tiny dot in the white median band. |

I have shot this picture along the footpath starting from the Communal Hut on the Track of Sainte Élie. The white median band on the fore wings does not have any tiny black dot, so I have listed this one as Autochton zarex and not as Autochton longipennis. |
