I have found at least 21 different species listed in the Argyrosticta genus. These are moths with a stout body. The abdomen tapers at the rear and exceeds the hind wings by about one third of its length. The antennae are thread like and hardly exceed half of the body in length. The legs are very hairy. The fore wings are generally dark and marked with lighter coloured lines. They show silvery white spots in the cell and at the apex on some species. The outer edge is indented. The hind wings are greenish yellow with a dark border. |

I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session. Based on the pictures that I have been able to observe, this one may be Argyrosticta vauaurea because of the lack of silvery white markings at the apex of the fore wings, but without being quite sure. |
