Amaxia consistenshas a bright yellow head and collar. The thorax is dark purplish brown. The upper side of the abdomen is black and brown. The tip is yellow and preceded by a red line. The under side is white. The fore wings are bright yellow. A large dark purplish area, bordered with red, extends onto the base of the wing and along the inner edge. Its edge is serrated by three curves including one near the costal edge. The remaining part of the wings is marked by grey spots outlined with black. The four largest spots, positioned in an arc near the apex of the wing, are connected by a red stripe. There is a row of small and regular marginal spots. The hind wings are blackish with a white area along the costal edge. The inner edge and the margin show a thin pinkish border. |
