Amaxia bella has an ocher yellow head with a brown line ahead of the antennae. The thorax is yellow with two elongated dark brown spots on the upper side and two large blackish brown spots outlined in red on the lateral sides.
The abdomen is bright red on the upper side with a yellow tip. It is white on the under side. The legs are yellow with blackish grey markings.
The fore wings are bright yellow with blackish grey spots finely outlined in red.
The ante-medial area shows elongated spots which do not extend to the inner edge of the wing where a yellow area appears.
There are large and lengthy spots along the inner edge running from the post-medial area to the margin.
Large and irregular submarginal spots are located between a row of small post-medial spots and a row of small marginal spots.
The hind wings are pinkish with some white colour near the costal edge and large black areas close to the margin.
