The Adeloneivaia genus includes 19 species which are all found in the Neotropical region.
Male Adeloneivaia boisduvalii shows triangular fore wings with a very straight outer edge.
They are divided into two parts by a thin straight blackish line starting just before the apex and ending at the middle of the inner edge.
The part on the margin side is pale pinkish grey, the other part, on the base side, is orange. This last one is crossed by a thin dark line starting about at one fourth of the outer edge and ending at one fourth of the inner edge. The part of the wing delimited by this line and closer to the base is a slightly darker colour.
There is a white eyespot, circled with dark, at the centre of the wing. It is accompanied by one or more smaller spots next to the costal edge.
The hind wings have a rounded costal edge which is often extending on each side when the moth is landed. They are a rather uniform orange colour with only a dark and diffuse cross line. The outer edge is slightly concave.
Females are larger and more reddish. They wings have a more rounded shape with a clearly convex outer margin.
Adeloneivaia jason is a lighter yellowish colour. The basal part of the wings is pinkish grey. The hind wings show a reddish patch close to the inner edge.

Boisduval's Horned Devil (Adeloneivaia boisduvalii)
I have shot this picture at Roura, at Camps Patawa, during a light trap night session.
I have also observed Adeloneivaia jason during the same session. It is clearly a paler colour and the colour of the base of the wings is very different.
