I'm very late in sorting my pictures, so I'm going to slow down the pace of my shots and increase my time spent in front of the computer, hoping to reverse that soon.
Dock Leaf Bug (Coreus marginatus(Linnaeus, 1758)) - Yvelines, France - June 26th 2017
Canon EOS 40D, EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens with extension tubes.
F/11, 1/60 s, 200ASA. Focus distance: about 15cm.
I don't know how this nymph got into the kitchen sink in the middle of washing up. Was it transported with a salad or some other vegetable?
It had to undergo the usual photo shoot before being carried outside to the garden.
The length of the antennae is really impressive.
I use the extension tubes and the flash for these tiny insects. A salad bowl in the sink provided a nice white background.
The most difficult for these very close photos is undoubtedly the focus. I switch to manual mode by setting the minimum distance allowed by the extension tubes and I approach slowly to trigger as soon as the desired area appears sharp in the viewfinder.
It works well with a stationary subject, but this very mobile nymph gave me a hard time. I am however satisfied with the result.

(Conomelus sp.(Fieber, 1866)) - Yvelines, France - July 2nd 2017
Canon EOS 40D, EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens with extension tubes.
F/6.3, 1/16 s, 800ASA. Focus distance: about 15cm.
This tiny insect, which I didn't think was at the adult state, was found in my workshop, the door of which is near a small pond in my garden. There are however no Reeds but Irises.
I do not remember on what kind of reflecting support this Conomelus was positioned at the time of the picture.
It is very likely that it is Conomelus anceps but it is not certain because we also find in France Conomelus lorifer subspecies dehneli and it is not possible, to my knowledge, to differentiate them on photo.
That's why I kept only Conomelus sp. for identification.
