My preferred pictures of 2013

I have spent a lot of time on my pictures shot in French Guyana and because of that I have delayed my other on going projects …
I go on taking pictures of all what is moving around me and I notice that I am more and more attracted to arachnids.

Black-necked Grebe (Podiceps nigricollis)
Canon EOS 40D, EF300mm f/4 L IS USM lens.
F/7.1, 1/400 s, 200 ASA. Focus distance: about 12m.
This picture is slightly cropped.
Black-necked Grebes in nuptial plumage are really beautiful birds.

Latticed Heath (Chiasmia clathrata(Linnaeus, 1758)) - Yvelines, France - June 16th 2013

Latticed Heath (Chiasmia clathrata)
Canon EOS 40D, EF300mm f/4 L IS USM lens.
F/9, 1/200 s, 400 ASA. Focus distance: about 35cm.
Conditions were very good to shoot this picture: No wind, a very cooperative moth, no unwanted grass stem in the field of view and nice green grasses in the far to get a beautiful bookeh.
