The story begins when I get my new digital SLR in June.
Some tries and I decide to go hunting for wildlife pictures.
I hope that, years after years, the pictures will be better and better.
Gatekeeper (Pyronia tithonus(Linnaeus, 1771)) - Yvelines, France - August 7th 2004
One of the very first picture of a butterfly with my digital camera.
Canon EOS 300D, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
Focal length 34 mm, f/4.5, 1/320 s, 100 ASA. Focus distance: about 30cm.
Post-processing: Image cropping.
There is a small lack of depth of field which could have been improved by decreasing the shutter speed and using a smaller aperture.
This is the control of this depth of field, that I will try to learn and acquire.

Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus(Linnaeus, 1758)) - Yvelines, France - December 5th 2004
A kind hedgehog, maybe disturbed during its sleep, crossed my garden and stopped a couple of minutes for the picture.
Canon EOS 300D, EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM lens.
Focal length 190 mm, f/5, 1/80 s, 400 ASA, on-board flash. Focus distance: about 3m.
Post-processing: Image cropping.
The head is sharp but the back is blurred. I should not have focused on the nose but a little behind.
